Assessing if vision is stable or deteriorating is vital for clinicians in their decision about initiating or changing treatment. In this project we are devising new methods, based on modern Bayesian statistics, for detecting change in visual field data.
Typically researching this area from groups around the world has involved derivation and testing of new methods on data collected at the clinic of the authors. While this provide some insight into the performance of the method, the good results experienced are often not transferable to other clinics or data sets.
In this project we are endeavouring to compare all of the existing methods on a single data set and then devise new methods that outperform existing techniques. The first release of the dataset is on GitHub.
